  Reflection on Job 8:7 — “Though your beginning was small, your future will be great! There is something powerful and comforting in these words from the book of Job. At face value, they are a simple encouragement. But when we look deeper—especially within the context of Job’s life—we see a truth that reaches into the very core of our human experience:  God sees beyond where we  are. He sees where we’re going. Job had lost nearly everything—his wealth,  his health, his family, his reputation. He was sitting in ashes, covered in sores, surrounded by friends who offered more judgment than comfort. And yet, in the midst of that desolation, comes this statement:  “Though your beginning was small, your future will be great.” This is not just a poetic sentiment. It is a spiritual truth rooted in the character of God. He is the God of restoration, renewal, and increase. He never wastes a beginning, no matter how humble, painful, or unnoticed it may be.
